Richard has completed thousands of projects in the Southwest Michigan community and has received a number of awards for construction excellence and community service including an award from the Kalamazoo Board of Realtors in 1981 for Substantial Contributions to the Ideals of Home Improvement and Public Service.

A graduate of Ferris State with a Degree in Building Construction Technology, Richard has been a licensed builder by the State of Michigan since age nineteen.
